About Phyllis
I am a follower of Jesus Christ. I am also a mother, a grandmother, and a widow who collects stories, pictures, and memories.
I grew up in Oklahoma and received my BS and master’s degrees from Oklahoma State University where I met and married a Texan who became the love of my life. We had two sons who gave us three grandsons who are now adults. I taught in Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas before moving to Virginia and teaching mathematics for twelve years at Liberty University from which I retired in 2000.
During my years of teaching college youth, I realized that if I mentioned something about my own childhood or that of my parents, some students were spellbound to discover someone they actually knew had experienced so much history. I was amazed that others felt no connection to earlier eras. Many lived somewhat isolated lives without the support or interaction of older generations.
I pray my stories may serve as a bridge to the present generations from an earlier one.
“One generation shall praise Your works to another and shall declare Your mighty acts.”
Psalm 145:4
